PVC post & rail installation — lifetime warranty, zero maintenance
The clean, classic fence that never needs painting. Installed properly.
PVC post and rail gives you the prestigious look of white board fencing without a single coat of paint — ever. No rot, no splinters, no annual maintenance. System Equine installs PVC for riding rings, estate driveways, paddock borders, and property boundaries across Southern and Central Ontario. Posts plumb, rails aligned, every time.
Why PVC Post & Rail
The premium choice for appearance, longevity, and zero maintenance.
PVC fencing delivers a clean, professional aesthetic that holds up for decades with almost no upkeep. It is the fence type that makes a property look finished — and keeps looking that way.
PVC post and rail comes with a lifetime manufacturer warranty. The colour is built into the material, not applied to the surface. It will not peel, chip, fade, or require refinishing.
The clean white line of PVC post and rail is the standard for riding ring borders, arena boundaries, and estate driveways across Ontario. It defines the property with precision and holds its appearance year after year.
PVC on its own is a visibility and boundary fence — not a primary containment fence for horses in pasture. For pasture use, PVC is installed with one or more electric tape strands inside the top rail to provide containment. We handle this as part of the installation.
PVC installation demands precision. Posts must be perfectly aligned and set at 8 feet on centre for the 16-foot rails to slide through correctly. Our crews use professional post-pounding equipment and set every post to specification.

Best Applications
Where PVC post & rail works best.
Riding rings and arena borders
PVC is the most common fencing choice for riding ring borders in Ontario. The white rail is clean and professional, defines the space clearly for both horse and rider, and requires no maintenance between shows, clinics, or daily riding. We size and install to the exact dimensions of your ring.
Estate driveways and entrance borders
A long white PVC fence line running to a driveway gate is one of the most recognizable signatures of a premium equestrian property. We install driveway borders to coordinate with System Equine’s modular iron and ornamental gate systems for a cohesive entrance aesthetic.
Property boundary lines
PVC is an excellent choice for decorative property boundary fencing — where visibility, aesthetics, and zero maintenance matter more than maximum containment strength.
Horse paddocks (with electric strands)
For horse paddock use, PVC post and rail is installed with one or two electric tape strands to provide the containment the rigid PVC rail alone cannot. This combination gives you the appearance of PVC with the horse behaviour management of electric.
Frequently Asked Questions
PVC fence installation — common questions
PVC is a rigid fence material — unlike Flex Fence, it does not flex on impact. For pure horse paddock use, we recommend pairing PVC with electric tape strands inside the top rail to discourage contact. PVC is very safe for riding ring borders and boundary fencing where horses are not running the fence line under pressure.
PVC rails are rigid 16 foot lengths that slide through hollow posts, making proper post placement and alignment critical for a clean, professional installation. Posts must be accurately spaced and perfectly plumb to ensure the rails fit correctly and the fence line remains straight and structurally sound. This is why professional installation and precise post setting are essential for PVC fencing systems.
Yes — and for horse pastures, we recommend it. One or two electric tape strands are installed inside the top PVC rail. The horses see the white PVC and respect the line; the electric strand discourages leaning and pushing. We handle energizer selection and grounding as part of the installation.
Yes. Quality PVC fencing is engineered to withstand freeze-thaw cycling, UV exposure, and temperature extremes. The lifetime manufacturer warranty covers the material for cracking, peeling, and UV degradation. Post pounding rather than augering gives our PVC posts maximum resistance to frost heave.
We install 2-rail, 3-rail, and 4-rail PVC configurations. Rail count is chosen based on application: 2-rail for decorative boundaries, 3-rail for standard paddock borders and driveways, 4-rail for riding rings and where maximum fence height and visibility are required.
