System Fencing spends countless hours supporting local communities like Sunrise Therapeutic Riding Centre and our service and expertise benefits many young and adult riders all around Ontario. Organizations like Sunrise depend on local businesses for funding and System Fencing is more than happy to work alongside them.

Sunrise Therapeutic Riding Centre has been serving the communities of Guelph/Cambridge and Wellington County for the past 32 years. Thousands of children and adults with special needs have benefitted from the therapy received through the power of the horse.

Sunrise is a member of the Canadian Therapeutic Riding Association (CanTRA), and is the only accredited Therapeutic Instructor Training School in Canada. Interns from across Canada and Europe, train at the centre on an ongoing basis.

All the Sunrise instructors are Canadian certified. There are two occupational therapists, one physiotherapist and a physician as consultants to the program.

A young rider explains that, “Sunrise doesn’t just provide therapy, it is my stepping stone into the world!”

However Sunrise receives no ongoing government funding and therefore relies heavily on foundations, special events and more importantly, local businesses, for funding support to ensure the program continues.

System Fencing has always been a strong supporter of Sunrise. Recently we donated the labour to install much needed fencing, to enable improved pasture rotation and ensure more cost effective use of the farm land.

“The support of companies like System Fencing has been invaluable to our survival over the past 32 years. We could not provide the high level of service that our families value, without such committed partners” says Ann Caine, Executive Director.

Sunrise, along with System Fencing does amazing work for the communities around them and will continue to provide future riders with the same life changing experiences.
